Since 1986, Stonehearth Christmas Tree Farm has been providing high-quality trees to homes and businesses throughout area. Started by Bob and Elva Lou Sweeney as a retirement hobby, Stonehearth Christmas Tree farm has been family owned and operated for three generations. We pride ourselves on our commitment to sustainability, customer satisfaction and being a family tradition to many loyal costumers over the years.
The land you walk on when visiting the farm has been in the Sweeney family for over a century, having been passed down to Bob from his aunt, who used to raise farm animals on the property (you may catch a glimpse of the old barn and farm house while touring the property). Now, Bob's daughter, Janice and her husband Ray still live on the farm, where they raised their two children, Laura and Dan (seen above with Bob and Elva Lou).
At Stonehearth Christmas Tree Farm, we take great care in the selection, planting, and nurturing of our trees. Our experts use only the best practices to ensure healthy and thriving trees for years to come. Tree farming is no easy task and requires hard work throughout the year. Most people would be surprised to know that Christmas trees don't grow in cone shapes!
Each season requires a new task for the farm to stay in shape and be ready for opening day. In the springtime, we plant saplings (about a year or so old and usually under a foot in height), which grow about one foot a year until they are chosen for someone's Christmas tree.
Every summer, the trees are trimmed into the cone shapes we have all grown to expect from the perfect Christmas tree.
In the fall, the farm is cleaned up, grass is cut, dead trees cut and we get ready for opening day, Black Friday!
Ask one of our workers about what all goes into tree farming during your visit to get a full explanation on what it takes!
We offer a variety of trees, including White pines, Scotch pines, Canaan Fir and a few Red pines. All our trees are purchased as saplings and planted and grown right here on the farm. Our farm is 100% organic, meaning we never use fertilizers or insecticides.
All trees are $44, regardless of type or size. We will shake the dead needles out free of charge; bailing (netting) is $1 extra.
We are still trying to catch up from a few busy years, so our taller inventory is still low this year.
Cash, checks and credit/ debit cards are accepted. We also accept Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Don't forget to ask for your complimentary hot chocolate, hot apple cider or hot coffee! (limit/ one per person)
We are also pleased to host many local photographers who choose our farm each year for their holiday photo sessions. If you are a photographer, please reach out for pricing details and to get scheduled and for rules/ restrictions!
